This is the street that I live off of.
"My" mosque. I think the call to prayer might be louder in my bathroom than it is in the mosque.

This is my alley which is made of a wall and "my" mosque. My bike is longer than this alley is wide but it's just enough for two bikes to get by each other.

This is my house and front yard. I'm not complaining at all, I love my house. I just want you to have a balanced idea of what my life looks like. I do love my house. This is home. I feel strange saying that I'm going "home" to America...

This is what I see from my front door. What you can't see well and what you can't smell, is the overflowing septic tank spilling out of next doors front porch.

The best view in my house!

I'll take some photos in the next few days of what my street, alley, and house look like. Out every window in my house but one I see a cement wall, but every other direction I go I run into this.

I'm on a mountain, looking down at rice fields with the ocean in the back ground.

This could be my dream home.

This is where I live. I'll put up some more photos, when I have a better Internet connection and some more time.

I can not believe the natural beauty on this island and that I get to see it when I drive in any direction.

These are the reasons I live here.

The people are the most beautiful part of this island. I can't believe God chose me to live here.

This where real live Buggie men live!

The week following fasting people visit and vacation. I went to a waterfall with some friends.

A week after the end of fasting, we have a ketupat. People make these little bundles from leaves and then fill them with rice to be cooked. Then one week after the end of fast we eat ketupat.

I want you to see what life is like here. There are so many things I want to show you. These ladies unloded this whole truck of bricks with their heads!

This photo was supposed to be in the post below but got left out. Cookies, at every house. :o)

On Idul Fitri people get dressed up.
They come together as a community to pray and then

visit the graves of family members.

They eat together with extended family after a month of fasting during daylight hours.

Go visit friends. These people are all stoped under shelter on the side of the road because of rain. The rain stoped me too for a while.

Eat cookies where ever you stop.
And ask forgiveness so that you start a year fresh and new.

I left my house before 7 to take photos of my neighbours praying in the mall parking lot and got home sometime after 9 after greeting all my immediate neighbours, visiting and eating in at lest 9 homes. Today I will try to visit as many friends as possible that I did not see yesterday.

This little girl did like me and was all smiles.

This kid doesn't like me. She's afraid of me and afraid to have her photo taken. But she didn't cry when I was over at her house last night, a first! This is her dad who works in another country and is home to visit.
