These are some of the fun friends I got to see over the past few days. I had to go to immigration in the capital but was able to stop and see a friend there and then keep going and see my Iraqi friends that have moved. My friend who was in the accident had gone on a

trip and I didn't see him but got to see his wife and girls. We also have had friends stop by this island and there are more coming in a few days!

Merry Christmas!

I final got some things put up on the walls of my house and I think it looks homey now. I also decorated for Christmas. I think I'll have an open house for Christmas and try to have some friends over to eat, if I can figure out some food...

My guest room is still ready and waiting for you to come over. The curtains don't match, they and the pillows belong to my landlord. I haven't gotten around to making any new ones yet.

I'm proud of these photos.

"Older sister, can you take me to Salong?" my friend asked. So we jumped on my bike, rode an hour and a half to Salong, then back with a new glass eye! Not very many other people run across an island to pick up an eye ball for a friend.
The drive there was beautiful, banana trees, palm trees, and rice fields all bright green.
My "niece" was about 18 months old when I moved here and she'll be 3 on Thanks Giving.
I'm thankful for the life God has entrusted to me!

My neighbours all had a ceremony for this baby to cut her hair and pray for her. Now she's as bald as can be.

I love this smile!
She's the same kid in a photo from a few months ago with a spit wad stuck on her head to get rid of her hick-ups.

This is an Iraqi friend too. She's 4. We practiced counting last night, "1, 2, 3 4, W."

I turned my bike of the main road and drove up a steep incline. The view was worth it.

Ok, so if in Acts 3,000 believed in one day... then if we, who know the truth, start boldly telling people on this island, we should have told the 3o,ooo in about ten days.

I drove around a little and took some photos. I wish the photos were as beautiful as the real things. This is a beautiful island. Lost but beautiful.

Party food. I've eaten all of it and I like most of it.

This was my coumuity praying in the rain in the mall parking lot the morning of Idul Fitri, the day to celebrate that the fast is over. But there is a small group of belevers on this island that have comitted to have three days of prayer and fasting for the unity of the Body of Christ here, they are also asking others to join in and for this island to be specialy lifted up in prayer and fasting over the days of October 12-14. We hope that this will cross time zones, denominations, and nationalitys as belevers from all over pray for the Body here and for the hearts of the unreached here. Thank you always for your prayers!

Dressed up in new cloths for the end of fasting.

Fasting is over for one more year. Here people make models of their mosques or other religious symbols and carry them down the street on the last day of the fast.

Making cookies to celebrate the end of fast in just a few more days. The oven is the silver box, the box sits over a kerosene stove. The cookies have pineapple and papaya jelly in the center and a clove stuck on top to make it look like an apple.

For the next three moths I'm helping teach these kids English two mornings a week. Today was the first day and another man was supposed to teach but he walked out and left me all these kids to myself.

This is my friends wedding photo. No one is getting married right now during fasting. This is also the girl that I study the local not the notational language with. She's a good friend and a good source of info about what's going on around me. They are now expecting their first baby.
